At the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC), GigaAI and CHINGMU jointly demonstrated a robot ping pong human-machine rally system, validating robot perception and control capabilities in high-dynamic real-world motion scenarios. A ping pong ball can travel at over ten meters per second, taking only hundreds of milliseconds from serve to landing, with complex spin and uncertain trajectories. The robot must complete ball detection, 3D localization, trajectory prediction, stroke planning, and motion control within an extremely short window. CHINGMU's motion capture equipment captures the position and velocity of the high-speed moving ping pong ball in real time, calculates the position, direction, and speed required for the stroke, and transmits them to the underlying motion control system to enable high-speed human-machine rallies.
