In the CHINGMU "Digital Dream" Special Competition of the 20th China Creative Challenges Contest, the national first prize-winning work in the Virtual Production Short Film category, "The Seventh Sense," tells the story of an AI avatar who falls into the human world, imitates human speech and behavior, yet can never truly belong. Through the eyes of this confused AI, the film questions the boundary between reality and virtuality, and reflects on the nature of consciousness and existence in the age of rapid technological iteration.
Within the technical framework of virtual production, the team leveraged support from CHINGMU to achieve real-time compositing of AI-generated virtual content with character environments, allowing adjustments to composition and lighting matching to be made on set. This technical approach provided greater creative freedom for refining the narrative atmosphere and visualizing the philosophical theme of "the boundary between reality and virtuality," ultimately resulting in this thought-provoking sci-fi short film.
