In the CHINGMU "Digital Dream" Special Competition of the 20th China Creative Challenges Contest, the national first prize-winning work in the AI Storyboard Creation category, "The Lost Day," tells the story of Einstein and Heidegger debating whether "time has meaning." Through a thought experiment, they entrust the protagonist, Luke, with a divine artifact that defines the scale of time. Luke recklessly alters this scale, experiencing days stretched, compressed, and even reversed—until he ultimately drains the life of his beloved dog. After this absurd adventure, he comes to a realization: what defines a day is not physical measurement, but love.
At the competition venue, the team used AI tools to complete the storyboard creation. From the visual breakdown of the script and composition generation for key shots to concept pre-visualization of surreal scenes, all were assisted by AI. With the AI creation platform provided on-site by CHINGMU, the team was able to generate multiple storyboard versions in a short time and iteratively refine the narrative rhythm and visual language, delivering a story that reveals warmth within absurdity.
