In the special program China Pride broadcast on November 9 (National Fire Safety Day), Beijing Xingguang Film & Television collaborated with CHINGMU to deliver an immersive storytelling experience using XR virtual production technology. This collaboration not only enhanced visual quality but also introduced a new technical solution for large-scale program production, addressing challenges such as complex set construction, safety risks, and heavy post-production workloads. It enabled a “what you see is what you get” workflow, bringing creators closer to a real-world shooting experience.
A key highlight of China Pride was the first-time application of XR technology to create highly realistic environments. All XR scenes were produced in a 600㎡ XR virtual studio, with full-process services (creative, production, shooting, post-production) provided by the Xingtuo Visual team. Camera tracking is a core technical challenge in XR production. CHINGMU's optical motion capture system, with high precision, low latency, and multi-camera tracking, successfully addressed this issue. By tracking camera movement in real time, the system accurately reproduced spatial depth and motion, significantly enhancing visual realism.
XR virtual production reduced production time by approximately 50% and significantly lowered post-production workload and costs. It delivers substantial efficiency improvements across production cycles, spatial flexibility, and budget control.
For programs involving complex disaster scenarios like China Pride, production difficulty is extremely high. Traditional shooting and post-production methods can no longer meet the demands. Virtual production ensures both safety and efficiency.
As a long-term partner of Beijing Xingguang Film & Television, CHINGMU provided strong technical support with its expertise in optical motion capture and XR production. In the future, CHINGMU will continue to empower more productions with efficient and precise solutions.
