Motor City Comic Con has announced that Guardians of the Galaxy stars Michael Rooker (Yondu Udonta) and Sean Gunn (Kraglin Obfonteri) will be guests at the upcoming event. Both actors will appear on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21.

In addition to Saturday and Sunday, Gunn will also attend Motor City Comic Con on Friday, May 19.

Autographs with Rooker will be available for $60, and photo ops will cost $75. Gunn’s autographs are priced at $40, and photo ops are $60. Selfies with Gunn will also be sold for $40, alongside a $60 autograph/selfie combo. A joint photo op with both actors is priced at $125.

Rooker and Gunn both starred in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and its 2017 sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Both films were directed by Gunn’s brother, James Gunn. In the movies, Yondu abducts Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and raises him as his own son. He is also the leader of the Ravagers. Kraglin Obfonteri is a member of the Ravagers. Both actors reprised their roles in the 2022 Disney+ special The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Rooker and Gunn also voiced alternate versions of their respective characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe multiverse in the Disney+ animated series What If…?. In the episode “What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?”, Yondu abducts and raises T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) instead of Peter Quill.

Gunn reprised the role of Kraglin Obfonteri in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. He returned in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which premiered on May 5. Gunn also performed the motion capture for Rocket Raccoon in the MCU, with Bradley Cooper providing the voice.

Both actors also appeared in James Gunn’s 2021 DC Extended Universe film The Suicide Squad. In the film, Rooker portrayed Savant / Brian Durlin, while Gunn played both Weasel and Calendar Man. Rooker’s other credits include Merle Dixon on AMC’s The Walking Dead, the 2022 film White Elephant, and the 1995 movie Mallrats. Gunn’s other works include Kirk Gleason on The CW’s Gilmore Girls, the 2010 film Super, and the 2000 feature Special.

Though the Guardians of the Galaxy team has existed in Marvel Comics since 1969, the cinematic iteration of the team was introduced in 2008’s Guardians of the Galaxy #1 by writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with artist Paul Pelletier. Lanning will also attend Motor City Comic Con for all three days.

Rooker and Gunn will be present at Motor City Comic Con from May 20 to 21. Tickets can be purchased on the event’s website.
