On the morning of March 20, the Central‑China Division Workshop for the Virtual‑Scene Creation and Virtual‑Simulation Special‑track Competition of the 16th‑Anniversary Elite League of the National 3D Digital‑Innovation‑and‑Design Competition, co‑organized and technically supported by CHINGMU Vision, was successfully inaugurated at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. Representatives of the competition organizer, industry experts, teachers and students from universities across Central China witnessed this important event. Cheng Zhili, Vice‑President of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts; Yuan Xiaoshan, Dean of the School of Film, Television and Animation; Yin Liwen, Head of the Education Division of CHINGMU Vision; and Zha Baochun, Person‑in‑Charge of Xintianchuang Technology Co., Ltd., attended the opening‑ceremony together with other university‑enterprise delegates. A total of 12 sets of CHINGMU motion‑capture systems and XR virtual‑shooting studios worth over 10 million RMB were deployed for this workshop. More than 50 universities signed up, with over 400 teachers and students participating, creating a vibrant on‑site atmosphere.

Hosted jointly by the Art‑Design Specialized Committee of Hubei Higher‑Education Association, the Academic‑Affairs Office, the School of Film, Television and Animation, the School of Experimental Art and the School of Innovation of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, the Central‑China Division Workshop was co‑organized by Shanghai CHINGMU Vision Technology Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Xintianchuang Technology Co., Ltd., and received technical guidance and support from Hubei Animation Association.

At the opening ceremony, Cheng Zhili officially announced the launch of the Central‑China Division Workshop and delivered an opening address. As the exclusive technical supporter and co‑organizer of the Virtual‑Simulation Special‑track Competition and co‑organizer of the Central‑China Workshop, Yin Liwen congratulated the workshop on its successful launch. He noted that the training camp would deliver detailed, practical and professional guidance for contestants. Powered by CHINGMU’s optical motion‑capture systems, participants could better master real‑time digital‑human, offline‑animation and virtual‑production technologies to enhance their competitiveness.

Zha Baochun, also Person‑in‑Charge of Xintianchuang Technology Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to workshop arrangements. He mentioned that CHINGMU Vision had deployed 12 motion‑capture sets and one XR virtual‑shooting system valued at more than 10 million RMB for this pre‑competition training, which had attracted over 400 registrants. He wished all participants excellent results and the prestigious Dragon‑Tripod Award.
On‑site Visit by Participating Teachers and Students
Following the opening ceremony, participants toured the motion‑capture equipment and watched live demonstrations including virtual shooting and human motion tracking. They actively engaged in interactive sessions and experienced how motion‑capture technology empowers creative work. Many students commented that the workshop had broadened their horizons and ignited their passion for innovation.

South‑China Division Workshop Launches in Full Swing Simultaneously
On the same day, the South‑China Division Workshop, the first stop of the special‑track training camps and also co‑organized and technically supported by CHINGMU Vision, kicked off at Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering. Attendees included Zhu Lixue, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice‑President of Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering; Zhou Lingyan, Director of the Academic‑Affairs Department; Wei Songlin, Party Secretary of the He Xiangning School of Art and Design; Xiong Qiang, Vice‑Dean; Ye Yuanlan, Deputy Director of the Academic‑Affairs Department; Li Huan, Deputy Party Secretary of the He Xiangning School of Art and Design; Yao Yousheng, Vice‑Dean; Hu Shihao, Sales Director of Shanghai CHINGMU Vision Technology Co., Ltd.; Zou Zhipeng, South‑China Regional Sales Director of Shanghai CHINGMU Vision Technology Co., Ltd.; Xu Teng, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Guanyue Network Technology Co., Ltd., as well as over 130 teachers and students from 25 universities.

Hosted by Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering and co‑hosted by Hainan University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangxi Normal University and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, the South‑China Workshop was co‑organized by Shanghai CHINGMU Vision Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Guanyue Network Technology Co., Ltd. More than a dozen industry experts including specialists from CHINGMU Vision offered pre‑competition professional courses covering real‑time digital humans, offline animation and XR virtual production, helping participants get well‑prepared for the contest.
Vice‑President Zhu Lixue delivered the opening speech, welcoming all teams to Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering. He remarked that the competition was not merely a skills contest but also a grand platform for creativity‑sharing, and encouraged participants to give full play to their talents and achieve outstanding results.

Vice‑Dean Xiong Qiang briefed teachers and students on workshop schedules, trainer profiles and training arrangements, urging participants to unleash their creativity and strive for top honours in the finals.

Zou Zhipeng (South‑China Regional Sales Director, CHINGMU Vision), Xu Teng (Deputy General Manager, Guanyue Technology) and Hu Shihao (Sales Director, CHINGMU Vision) respectively announced activity requirements and precautions.

This marks the first national‑level competition hosted by Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering. By partnering with CHINGMU Vision and Guanyue Technology, the university built a high‑end competition platform equipped with advanced motion‑capture and virtual‑shooting devices. Hands‑on sessions on digital‑human creation, offline animation and XR virtual production enhanced participants’ proficiency in cutting‑edge technologies, stimulated learning enthusiasm among digital‑media‑art majors, and provided valuable references for the construction of university digital‑media laboratories.

In the afternoon, a forum for faculty advisors was held, where Vice‑Dean Xiong Qiang reviewed the university’s recent development. Faculty representatives spoke highly of the workshop, shared their progress in digital‑media teaching, research and social services, and expressed hopes of strengthening exchanges through the competition platform to jointly improve talent‑training quality.
Organized jointly by the Organizing Committee of the National 3D Digital‑Innovation‑and‑Design Competition, the National Manufacturing‑Information‑Technology Training Center and the National 3D‑Technology Promotion‑Service & Education‑Training Alliance (3D‑Power), the National 3D Competition aims to drive multi‑disciplinary innovation in metaverse digital‑human technology, virtual‑scene and virtual‑simulation technology, and UAV collaborative control. It fosters college students’ innovative awareness and digital‑creativity capabilities and cultivates high‑quality technical‑oriented, application‑oriented and interdisciplinary talents to fuel China’s technological advancement.
Guided by the philosophy of “promoting teaching, learning, application and innovation through competitions”, the National 3D Competition has run for 16 editions since its launch in 2008. Hailed in the industry as “Makers’ Carnival, 3D Olympics and the Oscar of Innovative Design”, it annually draws participants from more than 600 universities and over 1,000 enterprises, with cumulative preliminary‑round participants exceeding 8 million. As China’s largest, highest‑specification and most influential large‑scale public‑welfare brand competition, it has been incorporated into the university‑discipline evaluation system of the Ministry of Education and classified as a Category‑A university event.
