Official Release of Competition Rules

Currently, the National 3D Competition 16th‑Anniversary Elite League (2023‑2024) Special Contest for Virtual Scene Creation and Virtual Simulation is underway. The competition rules for Animation / Virtual Production / Digital Human Live‑streaming have been reviewed and formally released by the competition organizing committee.
The rules clearly define competition contents and requirements for each contest phase, covering competition formats, work specifications, scene selection, and competition stages. Phased requirements include work submission rules, document preparation, scoring criteria and award settings for three contest tiers: University Preliminary Contest, Provincial / Regional Contest and National Final. Competition Introduction
Jointly hosted by the Organizing Committee of National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition, National Manufacturing Informatization Training Center and National 3D Technology Promotion, Service & Education Alliance (3D Power), the National 3D Competition aims to boost innovation in interdisciplinary technologies including metaverse digital human technology, virtual‑scene simulation and drone collaborative control. It contributes to China’s technological advancement, fosters college students’ awareness and capability of innovation, improves their digital and interdisciplinary creativity, and cultivates high‑quality technical‑oriented, application‑oriented and interdisciplinary talents. As the sole national co‑organizer of this special contest, Shanghai CHINGMU Vision Technology Co., Ltd. provides full‑range technical support to guarantee smooth competition operation.
Upholding the philosophy of "Promote Teaching, Learning, Application and Innovation through Competitions", the National 3D Competition has run for 16 consecutive editions since its launch in 2008. Known in the industry as "Maker Carnival, 3D Olympics, Oscar for Innovative Design". Over 600 universities take part in each session, with more than 1,000 participating enterprises annually. Cumulative preliminary participants have exceeded 8 million. As a large‑scale national public‑welfare brand event with nationwide widest coverage, highest standards and great influence, it is included in the university discipline assessment system by the Ministry of Education and classified as University Category‑A competition.
Key Competition Information
Vocational college, undergraduate and postgraduate participants compete within the same group. Each team consists of 3‑5 contestants plus 1‑2 supervisors. Each contestant may join only one team.
A. Produce an offline short film using motion capture / virtual production technologies. B. Deliver real‑time digital human performance with motion capture / virtual production. Contestants shall select application scenarios, complete product planning, create and present creative works with existing digital‑human technologies.
University Preliminary Contest: Oct 2023 — Mar 2024 Provincial / Regional Contest: Mar 2024 — Jun 2024 National Final: Jul 2024 Technical Guidance Period: Feb 2024 — Mar 2024 Registration Deadline: Mar 31, 2024
All participants shall register and form teams on the official competition website (https://3dshow.3ddl.net/i/CHINGMU), and submit complete, accurate and authentic information.
The competition organizing committee honors outstanding works and teams from provincial and national contests with honorary certificates, trophies and prizes. Additional opportunities include investment‑incubation for winning projects, priority direct employment offers, postgraduate admission interview referrals, mentorship, further training and internships. Participating universities may formulate their own incentive policies.
Two Dragon‑Tripod Grand Prizes (specially sponsored by CHINGMU; candidates must attend the on‑site 48‑hour re‑evaluation), 10% First Prizes, 20% Second Prizes and 30% Third Prizes will be awarded in the National Final. Excellent Supervisor Award and Excellent Organization Award will also be selected based on team organization and award performance.
