The inaugural China University Science and Art Innovation & Entrepreneurship Expo (University Innovation Expo) will be grandly held from July 5 to 10, 2023 at Qingdao Shibo Huachuang International Industry‑Education Integration Park in Jimo District, Qingdao. Co‑hosted by the Organizing Committee of China Creative Challenges Contest and undertaken by the Digital Image Creativity Working Committee of China Video Industry Association, the expo will showcase over 10,000 graduation and cultural and creative works from college students across more than 100 nationwide universities. As an enterprise settled in the park, CHINGMU will participate in the event and provide strong support for the expo.

The expo will host a series of major activities, including the 3rd Super‑Field Digital Creative Summit Forum, the opening ceremony of China Creative Art Museum, the launch ceremony of the 18th China Creative Challenges Contest, the 2023 Qingdao Jimo Digital Cultural Tourism Industry Development Forum, the founding ceremony of the Investment Committee of China Creative Challenges Contest, and the award ceremony of the National Finals of the 6th National Digital Creative Teaching Skills Competition. It will also witness the official launch of the Super‑Field Science and Art Collaborative Innovation Joint Industrial College initiated by the first batch of 27 universities, including Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Jiangnan University and Beijing Normal University.

Renowned experts and committee members from the National Teaching Advisory Board for Animation and Digital Media Majors, Art Majors and Design Majors under the Ministry of Education, as well as deans and core leaders of relevant departments from universities nationwide, will attend the event. Dubbed the “Olympics of University Science and Art”, the grand expo is set to unfold.

Jointly built by Qingdao Jimo Urban Tourism Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Shandong Shibo Huachuang Animation Media Co., Ltd., Qingdao Shibo Huachuang International Industry‑Education Integration Park integrates digital creativity, talent cultivation, project production, copyright trading, maker spaces and cultural tourism. It builds a circular ecological system driven by industries, supported by talents, and features mutual empowerment between industry and education. The park aims to develop into China’s largest base for digital creative content production, cultural and creative copyright trading and professional talent training. Based on the principles of strong alliance, resource sharing and joint progress, the Organizing Committee of China Creative Challenges Contest has reached a long‑term strategic cooperation agreement with the park. The two parties jointly launch the inaugural University Innovation Expo and settle the permanent China Creative Art Museum in the park to build a national digital art research and study base for teenagers.

As a leading professional brand in the motion capture industry, CHINGMU has officially settled in the park and built a specialized industry‑education integration training base, as well as an internship and practical training platform open to college students nationwide. CHINGMU will fully participate in and strongly support the University Innovation Expo. On‑site demonstrations of digital technology applications such as virtual production will be displayed at the CHINGMU training base, which will be open for free visits for teachers, students and young participants nationwide.

Currently, most of China’s over 3,000 universities and vocational colleges offer majors related to art creativity and computer technology, covering animation art, animation production technology, visual communication, environmental art, digital media art, digital media technology, virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, product design, film and television production, game development, derivative design, jewelry design, fashion design, data visualization, digital light and shadow, naked‑eye 3D, big data and internet technology. These disciplines cover diverse fields, involving more than 6 million teachers and students and influencing over 200 million young consumer groups.

The national Digital China Strategy has broadened the development space for the digital creative industry. College students represent both the future of the industry and the future of the nation. Disciplinary construction in universities requires integrated development of industry and education, as well as a platform for centralized demonstration, external exchange and cooperation. Currently, there is no specialized national expo focusing on university science and art disciplines in China. Having successfully held 17 sessions, the China Creative Challenges Contest is listed as a national first‑level discipline competition by the Society of Higher Education of China. After thorough research and extensive consultation with universities, the organizing committee undertakes social responsibility to jointly launch the University Innovation Expo with Qingdao Shibo Huachuang International Industry‑Education Integration Park, building a dedicated platform for universities to showcase achievements and conduct industry exchanges.
