The Chaoyuan Virtual‑Anchor Motion‑Capture Event, co‑hosted by Chuanghuan Tech and CHINGMU Vision, was held at Clark‑Kala, Wangjing SOHO, Beijing on May 31, 2019. This marked the second stop of the 2019 motion‑capture demonstration tour, following the first event hosted at CHINGMU’s optical motion‑capture base in Shanghai back in April. The event showcased visual interactive technologies ranging from desktop‑grade to variety‑show‑grade solutions. Special visual effects once exclusive to films and animations were brought onto live‑event stages, enabling cross‑dimensional interaction between virtual and real‑world elements. Representatives from Huya Live, iQiyi Animation, Xiaomi and many other platforms attended and offered their support.

Hosted by Guangzhou Chuanghuan Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and co‑organized by CHINGMU Vision, this activity brought together two leading tech‑focused enterprises. Chuanghuan Tech is a top‑tier AR & VR developer with deep‑rooted partnerships with well‑known ACGN platforms including Huya, Tencent, iQiyi and NetEase. CHINGMU Vision ranks among China’s domestic manufacturers of optical motion‑capture systems and one of the few enterprises owning self‑developed core tracking technologies. Its motion‑capture solutions are widely deployed in virtual‑reality theme parks, film‑and‑television production, video‑game development and other pan‑entertainment sectors, while its optical tracking systems also serve medical research, sports‑science, engineering, biology and many other industrial fields. These two demonstration events presented a complete virtual‑anchor workflow, covering both operating software platforms and physical motion‑capture hardware.

Virtual YouTubers (VTubers) are non‑human online streamers that first emerged on YouTube and other video platforms in 2016. Rather than showing a real‑life performer’s face, VTuber content centres around 3D‑rendered avatars driven by motion‑capture, voice‑acting and digital‑production pipelines. By July 2018, more than 4,000 VTubers had gained a combined audience of 12.7 million followers, with total video views hitting 720 million, signalling rapid industry‑wide growth. Major domestic and international live‑streaming platforms, such as GREE, Mirrativ and Huya Live, have launched dedicated VTuber channels, while NICONICO and Bilibili have begun integrating virtual‑idol content into variety‑shows and short‑video productions.

The booming virtual‑anchor market has unlocked abundant new commercial possibilities. After long‑term R&D and multiple iterative upgrades, Chuanghuan Tech rolled out its cloud‑based Chaoyuan Virtual‑Anchor Platform built upon CHINGMU Vision’s motion‑capture hardware.

The Chaoyuan Virtual‑Anchor System delivers IP‑oriented visualisation solutions for virtual‑idol projects, supporting live‑streaming, short‑video creation, offline stage performances, holographic shows and other diverse scenarios. Boasting strong compatibility, it seamlessly integrates facial‑capture, real‑time rendering and voice‑control modules to map performers’ movements, facial expressions and voice‑audio onto virtual avatars with zero perceptible delay. Compact, flexible, multi‑functional and stable, the platform can be independently operated by third‑party teams after only two‑hour training sessions, helping platforms explore new traffic channels and attract cross‑dimensional audiences. Three scenario‑oriented tracking solutions were demonstrated at the event: CHINGMU optical motion capture, inertial motion capture and ARLive facial capture.
