With the advent of new technologies such as digitization and information technology, the education sector has undergone unprecedented transformations. A crucial concern for many institutions is how to transcend traditional boundaries, making knowledge transmission more efficient, intuitive, and engaging, while providing students with a holistic learning platform that integrates study, practice, and innovation.
Virtual simulation, leveraging advanced technologies like VR (Virtual Reality), cloud computing, and big data, has revolutionized educational experiences. Its interactive and immersive teaching methodologies, coupled with low-cost yet high-quality educational advantages, have garnered widespread favor among institutions. As a national demonstrative virtual simulation training base, Shanghai Nanhu Vocational and Technical College adopts a unique approach to educational development. By leveraging simulation teaching, it transcends students' rote learning mindset, enabling them to apply what they learn, achieve mastery, and ultimately excel as professionals in their fields.
In particular, the Nursing School of the college has collaborated with ChingMu Vision to develop a comprehensive pre-hospital emergency response training system that seamlessly integrates virtual and real-life scenarios. This system encompasses ChingMu's sub-millimeter-level high-precision optical motion capture system, intelligent comprehensive emergency simulation mannequins, and a 3D projection cave display system provided by Shanghai Qingying Digital Technology Co., Ltd. Coupled with ChingMu's motion capture software, active 3D glasses, and interactive Bluetooth controllers, it meticulously recreates various emergency scenarios, such as fire rescue simulations and roadside emergencies, facilitating the teaching and practice of emergency knowledge in diverse environments.
The system's hyper-realistic simulation, interactive and immersive learning experiences, and innovative teaching methodologies immerse students in authentic rescue situations, enhancing their ability to respond to emergency situations. Furthermore, its digital storage and presentation allow for repeated training sessions, significantly reducing learning and practice costs while fostering critical thinking, cognitive upgrading, and the refinement of professional skills through simulation exercises.
Shanghai Nanhu Vocational and Technical College is the first new-type (five-year integrated) higher vocational college in Shanghai. It is also a national digital campus construction unit for vocational colleges, a national demonstrative virtual simulation training base, and the sole finalist in Shanghai's first batch of "Metaverse" significant application scenarios in the vocational education sector. Additionally, it holds prestigious titles such as the Shanghai Demonstration Center for Ideological and Political Teaching Research, the first batch of new-type technician colleges in Shanghai, the 5G+XR Smart (Connected) Vehicle Virtual Simulation Demonstration Base, the Information Benchmark School Construction Unit, the Municipal Innovation and Entrepreneurship College (Nurturing), and one of the first batch of science, technology, and education characteristic demonstration schools under Shanghai's 14th Five-Year Plan.
