On July 20th, the finals of the 19th China Good Idea • CHINGMU "Digital Dream-Making" Special Contest, hosted by the Organizing Committee of China Good Idea and National Digital Art Design Competition and undertaken by CHINGMU, concluded successfully at the CHINGMU MCP Motion Capture Creation Base located in Shanghai Peninsula 1919 Film & Television Dream Factory. Focusing on digital art and technological innovation, this contest collected 540 entries from 114 universities across the country. Eventually, 47 teams advanced to the finals to compete fiercely for national awards, injecting strong momentum into the digital creative industry with cutting-edge creativity and innovative technologies.
Authoritative Leadership: Building a Benchmark Competitive Platform for Digital Art
China Good Idea Competition is a key event listed in the Analysis Report on College Students' Discipline Competitions in National Regular Institutions of Higher Education released by the China Association of Higher Education, with a consistent focus on promoting digital art. This year's CHINGMU "Digital Dream-Making" Special Contest inherits the event's mission, introducing cutting-edge technologies such as optical motion capture and virtual shooting to encourage participants to explore the integration boundary between art and technology.
As a practitioner deeply engaged in digital creative technologies in education, CHINGMU conducted in-depth campus activities across multiple cities nationwide before the contest. Through equipment operation training, creative idea sharing, and case analysis, it provided nearly 40 sessions of free professional technical guidance and creative empowerment for teachers and students. This initiative transformed innovative optical motion capture technology into accessible creative tools for students, helping young creators break through technical barriers and enabling their creativity to thrive through professional technical support.
The contest invited a panel of authoritative experts and scholars from the education sector and industry, including deans of well-known universities, academic leaders, and senior practitioners in the digital creative industry. Focusing on three tracks—3D animation short films, digital human performance shows, and virtual shooting short films—the jury conducted rigorous and targeted evaluations of the entries from core dimensions such as artistic expression, technical application, accuracy of performance movements, visual effects, and creative conception.
Under the professional supervision of the jury, participating teams launched a 48-hour creative competition. Supported by CHINGMU's advanced optical motion capture system, they broke through physical space constraints to deeply integrate technological innovation with artistic expression, presenting a series of innovative works that combine creative ingenuity with technical sophistication. These works not only demonstrated solid creative skills but also conveyed young creators' unique perspectives on cultural inheritance and technology integration.
Glory Crowned: Inspiring the Growth of Digital Creative Talents
After 48 hours of creative confrontation and technical refinement, this pinnacle showdown of digital art finally reached its moment of glory. At the award ceremony, a host of works that excel in both technical breakthroughs and artistic expression stood out and claimed honors at various levels. As the organizer of the contest, CHINGMU prepared generous rewards and growth support for the winners, which not only serves as an authoritative recognition of their creative strength but also builds a progressive ladder for digital creative talents in the education sector, providing strong support for their in-depth exploration in the field of integrating art and technology.

In his speech at the award ceremony, Professor Wang Jianmin, chief judge of the contest, vice dean and doctoral supervisor of the College of Arts and Media at Tongji University, and member of the Animation and Digital Media Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, emphasized: "I hope all participants can bring the practical experience and creative insights gained from this contest back to their campuses. What's more, I look forward to seeing you integrate the innovative ideas learned here into your daily teaching and creation with deep reflections on the integration of art design and technology."

One of the national first-place teams in the 3D animation short film category shared after the event: “This 48-hour creative experience was like a journey of creative cultivation. The optical motion capture technology support from CHINGMU gave us the courage to turn our wild ideas into reality. We are grateful to CHINGMU for letting us learn a great deal about cutting-edge motion capture technologies and knowledge.
