CHINGMU Collaborates with Weifang University to Drive Innovation in Higher Education

In the current era of rapid technological development, the integration of cutting-edge technologies and higher education is becoming a crucial driving force for talent cultivation and industry progress. At the beginning of the new year, CHINGMU and the School of Media, Weifang University in Shandong Province have jointly embarked on a new chapter in education. On February 18th, a special lecture focusing on the "Industry Applications of Motion Capture Systems" was successfully held at Weifang University. Fu Changqing, the Pre-sales Director of CHINGMU, was invited as the keynote speaker, bringing a grand feast of the deep integration of technology and education to more than a hundred teachers and students.

During the lecture, with the theme of "Innovation in Digital Content Production Driven by Technology," Fu Changqing explained the principles of motion capture technology in a simple and understandable way. Combining with the actual cases of CHINGMU, he shared its innovative applications in digital content production. Starting from the principles of motion capture such as optical and inertial methods, Fu Changqing expounded on the application methods, advantages, and disadvantages of different motion capture techniques to the teachers and students. Moreover, by integrating with the technical approach of the sub-millimeter positioning accuracy of CHINGMU's MC series optical motion capture system to achieve precise collection of skeletal data, he deeply analyzed the application advantages of optical motion capture technology and demonstrated multiple scenarios of its application in teaching.

With the experience of providing motion capture services for multiple domestic film projects, including *Spirit Blade*, *My Heart Leaps Up*, and *Dare to Be a Hero*, as well as being responsible for the motion capture of large-scale live broadcast events such as the CCTV Labor Day Gala, the 2023 CCTV New Year's Eve Gala, the Li-Ning New Product Digital Launch Conference, and the Xinhua News Agency's 2021 Metaverse Virtual Live Broadcast, Fu Changqing presented the practical application scenarios of motion capture technology in fields such as film and television, gaming, and digital human development, by combining cases of motion capture and virtual launch conferences. Meanwhile, he analyzed the solutions for emerging fields such as industrial simulation and medical rehabilitation.

To enable teachers and students to have a further understanding of the application scenarios of motion capture technology in higher education, Fu Changqing also took the "3D Animation Motion Capture Training" course jointly established by CHINGMU and higher education institutions as an example. He demonstrated to the teachers and students how to integrate the entire process of film and television-level motion data collection, cleaning, and rigging into higher education teaching. He also shared characteristic teaching cases such as the motion library of digital cultural heritage. Through specific cases, he provided new ideas for teachers and students on how to better utilize motion capture technology to empower education, teaching, and curriculum practice.

This themed lecture was highly recognized and praised by the leaders and teachers of the School of Media. Han Dianyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Media, said that this lecture not only brought cutting-edge technical concepts to the students but also provided important references for the discipline construction of the school. As the first class of professional education in the new semester, this event effectively built a communication bridge between the industry and the school. The animation major teachers stated, "The content of the lecture is highly consistent with the professional courses. Especially in terms of the production standards of film and television-level animation, it has set a clear technical benchmark for the students."
