Recently, at the Beijing Daxing Virtual Production Innovation Forum, the 1600-square-meter VP Virtual Vision Studio, created by Beijing Starlight Studio Park with the support of ChingMu Vision, made its official debut and stole the spotlight. This studio not only showcases China's cutting-edge virtual production technology but also represents a groundbreaking upgrade to Starlight Studio Park's XR Virtual Studio.
The VP Virtual Vision Studio is a significant signatory project of the "2023 Beijing Cultural Forum" and a pivotal achievement in Daxing Economic Development Zone's establishment of a metaverse-based virtual creation hub. Currently, it boasts the most advanced comprehensive technical capabilities, the most professional hardware specifications, and the ability to meet the top-tier demands of the industry. Equipped with Hollywood's preferred ROE brand screens and high-precision motion tracking systems, it features ultra-high definition, vivid colors, and an expansive filming space, creating an immersive shooting environment that seamlessly blends virtual scenarios with live-action footage. This enhances visual effects and creative freedom, enabling a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" experience, potentially saving 50% of filming time and costs.
Beijing Starlight Studio Park is a national-level television program production base. Since November 2006, major central and local television stations such as CCTV, Beijing TV, Hebei TV, Guangxi TV, Travel Channel, and Liaoning TV have successively entered the park to produce programs. The park has established business partnerships with nearly a hundred film and television production, lighting and stage design, and equipment companies nationwide. It records over 2,000 large-scale programs annually and provides broadcast-grade studio services to over 90 film crews nationwide.
With the successful implementation of the VP Virtual Vision Studio, Starlight Studio Park will further expand its application scenarios, bringing broader changes and business opportunities to industries such as film and television production, live streaming, advertising, press conferences, gaming, and education and training. This will stimulate market demand growth, foster new industries, business formats, and models, continuously enhancing the influence and competitiveness of Daxing's digital cultural industry.
Motion capture technology plays a pivotal role in VP productions. To ensure the seamless interaction between actors, props, and LED screens, and to meet the needs of high-speed motion capture and real-time interaction in various application scenarios, ChingMu Vision provides comprehensive motion capture technical support for the VP Virtual Vision Studio. It is equipped with an integrated optical positioning and tracking system that combines MC4000 optical motion capture cameras, positioning tracking software systems, and active/passive marker points. Leveraging its high precision, low latency, and high-speed motion capture capabilities, it tracks the position and movement trajectory of live-action cameras in real-time and transmits data to virtual cameras, ensuring synchronized movement between the two.
This positioning and tracking system also enables multi-target tracking, capturing not only camera poses but also actor positions, body movements, and various props. Moreover, it is easy to install, operate, and scale, allowing for flexible addition or removal of positioning cameras or marker points based on client needs. Compared to traditional green screen filming, it eliminates complex post-production keying and compositing steps, significantly reducing time and labor costs. The application of motion capture technology greatly enhances the flexibility and scalability of the entire filming process.
Virtual production, with its novel presentation forms, efficient filming techniques, and unrestricted by geography or spatial environments, has rapidly become a favorite among film and animation, large-scale events, and live streaming industries. ChingMu Vision, with its end-to-end solutions and extensive business experience in virtual production, has successfully contributed to the visual innovation of numerous popular film and television works and large-scale broadcast events. Notable successes include CCTV's "Slightly Intoxicated Yantai · Sharing Night," "Pride of China," "Safe Journey · 2022," Dongfeng Nissan's all-new Teana launch event, the Mechanic Dawn laptop launch event, and Starlight Studio Park's Migu Metaverse Concert, all of which adopted ChingMu Vision's optical positioning and tracking technology to deliver outstanding audiovisual effects.
